Watkins Family
Privacy
This policy covers watkins.org and the Watkins account you use on Genetics, Wellness, and Creator. Effective 12 October 2026.
What we keep
When you create a profile we store the name, email, and username you give us, plus a hash of your password. We do not store the password itself. If you add a photo, a story, a message, or other profile details, we store those too, and we show what you publish in the family directory to other signed-in members.
Signing in with Google, Facebook, or X sends us the account id, name, and email that service shares after you approve it, and a profile picture when one is included. Those companies have their own privacy policies. We use that information only to sign you in and to fill your Watkins profile.
The site keeps a session cookie so you stay signed in. If you choose “Remember me,” that cookie can last up to 30 days. Server logs may include your IP address and browser type for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
We use this information to run the family directory, messages, groups, and the shared sign-in across the Watkins sites. We do not sell personal information, and we do not send marketing email.
Deleting your information
To delete your Watkins account and the profile, messages, and sign-in links stored with it, email doug@watkins.org from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will remove the account and the personal information tied to it, except where we have to keep a record for security or legal reasons. You can also ask us to correct a name or email the same way.
Children
The directory is for family members. Do not create an account for a child, or post a child’s information, unless you are their parent or guardian and you are comfortable with other signed-in relatives seeing it.
